Ramban Tunnel Opening: Kashmir’s fruit associations congratulate Union Transport Ministry

Srinagar, March 17: Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union Srinagar, an elected apex body of all fruit growers’ associations of Kashmir region have congratulated Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, for the opening of Ramban Tunnel at Panthial on Srinagar-Jammu highway, a long standing demand of Kashmir’s business and industry.

In a letter to the Union Ministry, a copy of which has been  made available to Ziraat Times, Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union Srinagar represents Fruit Growers Associations of Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla , Charar-i-Sharief, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag, Jablipora, Kulgam, Khoi, Pachahar, Zazna Ganderbal said, “we would like to convey heartfelt congratulations on having thrown open 880 meters long T5-Tunnel on dangerous Panthyal Stretch on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway”.

“The inauguration of the Tunnel was a great success and the CPPPL has done an outstanding job in completing the project within stipulated time. We would also like to thank the CPPPL for their hard work and dedication in making this project a success. The Fruit Growers/Dealers of the Valley are hopeful that this tunnel will be a great asset to the Fruit Growers of the Valley for uninterrupted transportation of their Fresh Fruits/Vegetables”, the association said.

“Furthermore, additional tunnels and flyovers, which are presently under construction, will also be thrown open within a shortest period. Similarly on completion of construction work of Highway from Jammu to Mumbai will be reduced to just 20 hours travel by road from Srinagar to Mumbai. This adventure will not only reduce the travel time but make commuting safe and hassle free”, it further said.
