CCIK seeks punishment against BJP leaders for Prophet (PBUH) remarks

Srinagar, June 10: Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir CCIK has condemned the “insulting” comments on Prophet Mohammad (peace by upon Him) by suspended BJP leaders  Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal.

CCIK President Tariq Rashid Ghani has demanded stern action against a BJP leader and other members for extending their support to Sharma.

Mr Ghani said the BJP leaders’ remarks have deeply hurt the sentiments of the Muslims and said such elements would not be tolerated by the Muslims.

Mr Ghani said any insult agaist Prophet of Islam is unacceptable and demanded exemplary punishment of the Sharma and others by slapping  Public Safety Act on them.

CCIK also appealed to people maintain peace and calm.

“We are hopeful that the culprits will be booked within no time and peace and stability is maintained”, CCIK said.
