PHDCCI-J&K demands committee for deciding future of Ukraine, China student returnees

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar, April 25: PHDCCI-J&K has demanded to constitute a Committee at the governmental level for deciding the future of students who have returned from Ukraine and China and are struggling back home for completing their education.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu and Kashmir Chairs Rahul Sahai and Baldev Singh Raina in a joint statement issued to Ziraat Times on Monday said that the on-going war between Russia and Ukraine has left over hundreds of J&K students, who had been studying in the war-torn nation, with no option but to leave their studies midway and similarly the continued Covid-19 restrictions have been affecting the careers of large number of J&K students enrolled in Chinese Universities.
These students are not allowed to pursue their courses in offline mode due to visa ban on Indian students and also the online option has been ceased, thereby, the putting the future of these students in jeopardy, they said.

In view of this situation, the PHDCCI –J&K requests the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to constitute a committee to look into the possible ways and means to enable these students to complete their education in India or outside India. It is suggested that the government should accommodate these students as a one-time measure in existing medical schools in the country. It is prior to mention that the Telangana government has announced the educational expenses of over 700 students brought back from war-torn Ukraine to enable them to complete their medical education in India, Mr Baldev and Mr Sahai remarked.
