New Delhi, Jan 9: The ultra-contagious Omicron variant is pushing cases to all-time highs across the country, with positivity rate already reaching about 20% in the national capital Delhi.

Across the country 1,41,986 cases reported on Saturday, forcing several states to impose tighter restrictions in a bid to control the rampaging virus.

4 Supreme Court judges test positive for Covid

After two judges of the Supreme Court tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, two more justices have contracted the disease as of Sunday. All the employees and officers of the top court have been tested, and so far, about 150 have been found either Covid positive or are in solitary confinement.

Earlier this week, Chief Justice of India Justice NV Ramana said the court may not be able to have physical hearings for at least 4-6 weeks due to the nationwide surge in Covid cases.

Over 400 Parliament staff test positive for Covid-19

On January 6 and 7, the staff and security personnel working in Parliament took Covid tests, out of which more than 400 people tested positive.
