Test run of 100 MVA Bugam, Chadoora grid station conducted

BUDGAM, OCT 4: Advisor Baseer Khan today oversaw the test run  of 33.86 Cr.100 MVA grid Station at Nowbug, Budgam. 25000 souls belonging to areas of Tehsil Chadoora will get benefited with the commissioning of 100 MVA Grid at Nowbug Bugam, Budgam.

“A long pending demand of the concerned habitants will get fulfilled ensuring better power network for the locality, besides the grid has a capacity and capability to absorb more areas subject to available feasibility”, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Baseer Ahmad Khan said while inspecting the readiness and other requirements to be infused to the Grid station in order to make it ready in due time and expected to be inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor.

The Advisor on the occasion was accompanied by ADDC Budgam Akramulla Tak, Chief Engineer KPDCL Maintenance Hashmat Qazi, Chief Engineer KPDCL Distribution Aijaz Ahmad Dar, SDM Chadoora, Exen F.A.Teli, Exen Grid Station and other concerned.

During the inspection the Advisor was briefed that 100 MVA, 132/33KV grid station including 132 KV transmission lines has been constructed at project cost of Rs 33.86 Crores. It was also given out that the 100MVA grid is capable of providing reliable and quality power supply to the villages of Chadoora Tehsil.

The Advisor was informed that work on project got started in the year 2010-2011. However due to several snags the work got halted and could not take off. It was only due to the intervention of present LG government the project was taken up under languishing programme through JKIDFC Ltd and could be finally completed. Advisor Baseer Khan had been taking regular reviews and had instructed the concerned engineers to adhere to the timelines.

The Advisor on the occasion appreciated and hailed the relentless efforts and dedication demonstrated by all affiliated with the scheme in ensuring this prestigious project getting completed. He directed concerned executing agency and other affiliated agencies to double their efforts in getting the project commissioned within stipulated time.

The Advisor on the return from the Grid Station physically inspected the installation and erection work of laying of cables and electric poles. He was informed that seven highly advanced cranes have been induced in the ongoing work keeping in view the impending winter season.
