Govt seeks info on its employees working in AIR, DD Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 27 (KNO): J&K government on Friday sought information from the All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar about its employees working unauthorizedly in the two central government broadcasting stations.

In this regard an official communication has been sent to different government departments by the Divisional Vigilance Officer.

The communication states the department shall provide the information of the employees who are working as ‘artists’ in All India Radio (AIR) Srinagar, Doordarshan Kendra without the proper sanction of the government.

The official document also reads, “It has come to our notice that some employees of various departments are working as artists in All India Radio (AIR) Srinagar, Doordarshan Kendra without the proper sanction of the government, which is mandatory under Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules 1741.”

“In this connection, I am directed to request you to kindly appraise about employees working under your control and are also participating as artists in the programs of Doordarshan and Radio Kashmir. It is also requested to provide the details of the employees who are participating in such programs of Doordarshan Kendra. It may also be communicated, whether they have sought prior sanction,” it reads.

As per the official communication, departments have been asked to provide the name of the employees, designation, department, present place of posting, name of a program in which participating, remarks and sanction of the government under conduct rules. —(KNO)
