Govt directs hospitals with over 50 beds to set up oxygen plants

Srinagar, July 27: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all the private hospitals with a capacity of 50 beds or more in their respective districts establish oxygen generation plants of appropriate capacity for facility of patient care.

An order issued by Atal Dulloo Additional Chief Secretary Health and medical Education Department reads “In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (c) of section 2 read with section 12 of the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir hereby directs that establishment(s)/Hospital(s) situated within all Clinical the territorial jurisdiction of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir having more than 50 beds shall establish an Oxygen Generation Plant of appropriate capacity for facility of patient care.”

Following the order, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather has directed all chief medical officers to ensure establishment of oxygen generation plants at private hospitals with over 50 beds capacity and intimate the office within two days.

“I am enclosing herewith S.O 253 notified on 27.07.2021 regarding the subject cited above from the Administrative Department, in this connection you are requested to convey the concerned Private Health Institutions under your jurisdiction which are having more than 50 beds capacity to establish the oxygen generation plants of appropriate capacity for facility of patient care under the an intimation to this office within (02) days positively,” reads the order issued by director. —(KNO)
