Srinagar: On the eve of the World Biodiversity Day, Environmental Policy Group convenor has said that we humans should be part of the solution, rather than aggravating ecological problems.
In a statement issued to press, Mr Bakshi said, “the creator has blessed us biological diversity (biodiversity) in abundance. Biodiversity is the foundation upon which we can build a sustainable future. It provides nature-based solutions to climate, livelihood, food and water security and most importantly health issues”.
“The destruction of natural resources in general and deforestation in particular serve us grim reminder during prevailing disastrous days of COVID EPIDEMIC, Black Fungus, White Fungus and so many related viruses. People are dying due to shortage of oxygen. On the other hand the source of nature blessed oxygen – trees – are being ruthlessly massacred in tens of thousands. We have been and continue to be ungrateful to creator for all the blessings to mankind. The result is before us. Every hour of the day one or the other person in our relations, friends or social circle is struggling for life”, he added.
