ZT Team Report

Srinagar: You never know how a small act of help can bring a big impact in someone’s life, says young Kashmiri social activist, Peer Tehleel Manzoor, pursuing his education at Kharar, Haryana.

Tehleel has been in news in recent days for his work in coordinating and mobilising support work in fighting the Covid-19, especially his work in helping hundreds of people who were stranded in different districts in Punjab.

Peer Tehleel is associated with Chinar Foundation led by Markandey Katju (Former Judge Supreme Court of India & Former Chairman, Press Council of India) and is also the President of Global Students Union Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.

While Peer Tehleel Manzoor is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Kharar, he is also supporting efforts for relocation and travel for hundreds of students from J&K, who study in various Punjab institutions. An estimated 6,000 Kashmiri students now study and live in Kharar and nearby areas such as Landran and Gharuan that are part of Mohali district.

“What I learnt from this situation is that in these uncertain & difficult times right now, we must not shy away to help each other in any way possible”, Tehleel said in a statement to Ziraat Times.

Recently Peer Tehleel Manzoor received Record of Achievement certificate from World Health Organization (WHO) for completing an online course conducted by WHO.
