SKUAST job aspirants seek rollback of withdrawal order for posts

Srinagar, Feb 24: Job aspirants for posts advertised by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Wednesday staged a peaceful protest, to press for the rollback of the order receding posts by the Deputy Secretary concerned.

The protesting job aspirants, holding placards in their hands which read “don’t snatch our rights, VC SKUAST wake up, rollback order” according to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) assembled at Press Colony and staged a protest to press for their demands.

“We are highly qualified candidates who have been waiting for announcement of posts for the past eight years. The aim of holding this protest is to impress upon the SKUAST administration to roll back its order of withdrawing posts. We belong to poor families and most of us are married awaiting jobs. Kindly have pity on us,” Abid Hussain, a protester said.

Protesters said the Deputy Secretary SKUAST’s order of withdrawal of posts announced earlier has left them in a state of shock as they have been waiting to get desired posts for the past eight years.

The SKUAST job aspirants appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to look into the issue and seek reply from the Deputy Secretary SKUAST for issuing an order receding posts.

He claimed that they been continuously protesting for the last five days against the arbitrary decision which according to him has left aspiring candidates bewildered. —(KNO)
