Srinagar, June 17: Two persons were killed and six others injured in a tragic road accident near Aru in Pahalgam on Wednesday, prompting Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to express grief over the loss of lives and direct authorities to extend all possible assistance to the affected families.
In a condolence message, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said he was pained by the loss of precious lives in the accident and conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.
“My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members in this hour of grief,” the Lieutenant Governor said, adding that he had directed the district administration to provide all necessary assistance to those affected by the accident.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed profound grief over the incident, which claimed two lives and left six persons injured.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also prayed for strength and courage for the families to bear the loss.
Expressing concern over the injured, Omar Abdullah directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the victims receive the best possible medical treatment without delay. He further instructed the administration to extend all necessary support and assistance to the affected families.
The circumstances leading to the accident were not immediately known. Authorities are monitoring the situation and providing assistance to the victims and their families.
