New Delhi, June 4: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline for submission of comments on the draft Telecom Consumer Complaint Redressal (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, following requests from stakeholders and industry associations.
According to an official statement issued on Thursday, the draft regulations were released on May 7, 2026, for public consultation, with the original deadline for comments set for June 5.
TRAI said the last date for submitting written comments has now been extended to June 12, 2026.
The regulator has also allowed stakeholders to submit counter-comments on the responses received during the consultation process. The deadline for filing counter-comments has been fixed as June 19, 2026.
The proposed amendments relate to the framework governing the redressal of telecom consumer complaints and are currently under public consultation.
TRAI has requested stakeholders to submit their comments and counter-comments electronically via email at [email protected].
For further clarification, stakeholders may contact Vivek Khare, Advisor (Consumer Affairs), TRAI, through the same email address or on +91-11-20907772, the statement said.
The extension is expected to provide additional time for telecom service providers, consumer groups and other stakeholders to examine the draft regulations and offer their feedback before the consultation process concludes.
