Srinagar, June 5: The management, faculty, staff and students of Tahira Khanum Trust on Thursday paid rich tributes to former principal Dr Javid Iqbal, describing him as an eminent academician, intellectual and mentor whose contributions to education and society will be remembered for generations.
In a condolence message, members of the institution expressed profound grief over the demise of Dr Iqbal and recalled his significant role in strengthening academic standards and fostering a culture of learning during his tenure as principal.
They said Dr Iqbal was widely respected for his dedication to education, commitment to academic excellence and efforts to instill values of integrity, discipline and social responsibility among students.
Faculty members remembered him as a visionary educational leader who inspired both students and colleagues through his wisdom, guidance and unwavering commitment to the pursuit of knowledge. Students and staff also highlighted his approachable nature and lasting influence on the institution’s academic environment.
The Trust noted that beyond academia, Dr Iqbal earned recognition as a noted columnist and public intellectual whose writings reflected deep concern for social, educational and public issues.
