Ziraat Times Team Report

Jammu: In a moving display of compassion and interfaith harmony, Kuldeep Sharma, a resident of Jammu, has gifted five marlas of land to journalist Arfaz Ahmad Daing, whose house in Bathindi was demolished earlier this week by the Jammu Development Authority for being allegedly built on state land.

The emotional handover took place in the presence of Sharma’s family members, many of whom were in tears as they watched Arfaz receive the ownership papers. Witnesses said the moment captured the essence of Jammu & Kashmir’s age-old traditions of brotherhood, where humanity rises above every other identity.

Arfaz, who had been left devastated and homeless after the demolition, was seen with moist eyes as he accepted the documents. He later said he was overwhelmed by Sharma’s generosity and described the gesture as “a light in a very dark week”.

Citizens across Jammu & Kashmir, cutting across ethnic, religious and regional backgrounds, have widely hailed Sharma’s act, calling it a powerful reminder of the unity that binds communities together despite challenges. Many social media users said that at a time when divisions often dominate public discourse, Sharma’s gesture had “restored faith in humanity”.

Community leaders also praised the move, noting that such acts of kindness strengthen social fabric and reaffirm the shared values that define the region.
