Srinagar, Nov 15: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Saturday expressed profound grief over the devastating accidental blast at Nowgam Police Station, which claimed nine lives — including police and revenue officials — and left more than thirty others injured.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, KCCI President Javid Ahmad Tenga said the business fraternity was “deeply shocked” by the tragedy and stands in full solidarity with the bereaved families. He extended heartfelt condolences to those who lost their loved ones and prayed for strength to help them bear the irreparable loss.
Tenga said the incident has also caused widespread damage to residential and commercial property in the area, adding that many economically vulnerable families have been left facing severe hardship, especially amid the harsh winter conditions.
He urged the administration to ensure immediate relief, rehabilitation and assistance to all affected households so their urgent needs — including shelter, heating, and medical requirements — are addressed without delay.
KCCI also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and hoped that adequate medical attention and financial support would be provided to them.
“The heartbreaking tragedy has cast a deep shadow across society,” the Chamber said, reaffirming its solidarity with all victims and families impacted by the explosion.
