Srinagar: The government of Jammu and Kashmir has confirmed that the proposed four-lane flyover from Dalgate to Parimpora via Budshah Kadal has been included in the approved projects under the Action Plan 2025–26 of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
In a written reply to an unstarred question raised by Tariq Hameed Karra in the Legislative Assembly, the Public Works (R&B) Department stated that the project — titled “4-lane flyover from Lal Chowk to Parimpora junction on NH-1 in Srinagar City” has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 700 crore.
The government said the project is part of 19 National Highway projects approved for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The flyover will cover a total length of 7 kilometres, connecting major junctions in the Srinagar city corridor.
According to the department, topographical and geotechnical surveys, including Automatic Traffic Counter and Classifier (ATCC) investigations at intersections, are currently underway.
“The final alignment plan and profile are under preparation and will soon be submitted to the Ministry for approval,” the reply stated, adding that once the structural design and detailed project report (DPR) are finalised, the project will be put to tender for execution.
