Srinagar: J&K Bank on Thursday observed “Mission YUVA Disbursal Day” across Jammu and Kashmir to expedite credit disbursements under the Union Territory government’s flagship self-employment and entrepreneurship programme.

At the conclusion of the day-long drive, the bank achieved 1,250 disbursements against a target of 1,000. Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee symbolically pressed a button to mark the culmination of the special exercise.

The event was attended by Chief General Manager (Business Development) Sunit Kumar, General Managers Rakesh Magotra and Nishikant Sharma, DGM Aneet Kanwal Singh, and other senior officers at the bank’s Corporate Headquarters. Divisional Heads Arshad Qadri (Kashmir) and Ashok Gupta (Jammu), along with all Zonal Heads, participated virtually.

Speaking on the occasion, Chatterjee congratulated the operational teams for surpassing the target and appreciated their efforts toward the successful implementation of Mission YUVA.

“J&K Bank has been playing a pivotal role in implementing Mission YUVA across Jammu & Kashmir. Today’s successful disbursal drive reflects our commitment to ensuring that every sanctioned case swiftly turns into a productive asset on the ground,” he said.

He emphasized that beyond meeting numerical goals, it was essential for all stakeholders to maintain strong monitoring mechanisms to ensure that each sanctioned case results in a sustainable livelihood.

Chatterjee added that the bank remained on course to meet the broader objectives of Mission YUVA, describing it as a reflection of the strong coordination between the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the bank.

According to J&K Bank, around 8,000 cases have been sanctioned so far under Mission YUVA, aimed at providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to youth.

As part of the special disbursal drive, all branches across the Union Territory reached out to beneficiaries to complete pre-disbursement formalities and enable same-day credit. Zonal heads monitored progress throughout the day, extending on-the-spot support to ensure smooth and timely disbursals.
