Srinagar: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has ordered the adhoc promotion of ten Civil Judges (Junior Division) to the rank of Civil Judges (Senior Division).
According to an official order issued by Registrar General (Officiating) M.K. Sharma, the decision was made after a review of comparative seniority, vigilance reports, and performance of eligible judicial officers under Rule 7 of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Judicial Service Rules, 2025.
Those promoted on an adhoc basis include Maleeka Sharma, Ananta Raina, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Altaf Ahmad Mir, Meera Bangotra, Assma Chowdhary, Urvashi Raina, Anjeet Singh, Suhanshi Vasishta, and Tarun Mahajan.
The order clarified that these promotions are purely temporary and do not confer any right to regular promotion or seniority. The promoted officers will continue to serve at their current postings until formal adjustments are made.
The High Court further stated that the officers may be reverted to their previous cadre if sufficient regular posts are not available.
The order has been circulated to the Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Registrar Vigilance, Registrar Judicial, and other concerned departments for information and necessary compliance.
