Srinagar: Doon School Srinagar, under the aegis of the Wilmort Foundation Netherlands, has announced the launch of its first international branch in Dubai, marking a major milestone for first such foray for a Kashmir-based institution.

At a press conference held in Srinagar, Chairman Showket Khan said the Dubai campus would be the school’s first and only branch and clarified that the institution has no other branches in Jammu & Kashmir or anywhere else in India.

“Our decision to open the first branch in Dubai reflects Doon School Srinagar’s global vision. Dubai is an international multi cultural  hub connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa, offering our students and teachers access to a truly diverse learning environment,” Khan said. He added that the move would not replace the Srinagar campus but strengthen it through student-exchange opportunities and the adoption of world-class educational practices.

He further said that the school would be the first step for its Kashmir students to explore the world and explore greater opportunities.

Khan further cautioned parents against misleading claims by unaffiliated institutions using the “Doon” name, stressing: “Merely using the name does not make a school part of Doon School Srinagar. Our first and only branch is opening in Dubai.”

On future expansion, Khan said Dubai was only the beginning, adding, “More branches may follow, but always with the same promise: world-class education and true global standards.”

School Principal Mr. Kamili also reiterated that Doon School Srinagar has no other campuses in India or J&K. Highlighting the school’s achievements in education, sports, and artificial intelligence, he said Doon Srinagar has earned international recognition over the past decade. He noted that Chairman Khan has been honoured by multiple governments, including Sri Lanka and Maldives, and has even addressed the Norwegian Parliament.

Students of the school expressed excitement about the upcoming exchange programs between the Srinagar and Dubai campuses, which will also allow learners from Dubai to visit Kashmir and become “brand ambassadors” of the Valley abroad.
