Srinagar: In a significant decision ahead of Eid, the Jammu & Kashmir Government has approved an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners, raising it from 53% to 55% of Basic Pay/Pension, effective from January 1, 2025.
According to Government Orders No. 155-F of 2025 and 156-F of 2025, issued by the Finance Department (Codes Division), received by Ziraat Times, the revised rates will apply to all government employees working under the 7th Pay Commission framework, as well as to government pensioners and family pensioners.
The arrears for the increased DA, covering January to May 2025, will be paid in cash in June 2025, and shall become part of the regular monthly salary and pension disbursement from June 2025 onwards.
Key highlights of the order:

Employees will receive DA at the revised rate of 55% of Basic Pay, replacing the earlier 53%.

Pensioners and Family Pensioners will similarly receive 55% of their Basic Pension or Family Pension.

Payments involving fractions of 50 paise or more will be rounded off to the next higher rupee.

Rules governing DA on re-employment and dual pensions will remain unchanged.
