Jammu: Frequent travelers between Jammu and Srinagar have reason to cheer as the Union Minister and Member of Parliament from J&K, Dr. Jitendra Singh, announced the launch of a daily morning flight from Jammu to Srinagar starting April 1, 2025.

The decision comes in response to long-standing complaints from government officials, business travelers, and professionals who found it inconvenient to fly to Srinagar and return the same day due to the absence of a morning flight.

Announcing the move on Saturday morning, Dr. Singh said, “In response to a common complaint, mostly from government officers and businessmen, that there was no morning air flight from Jammu to Srinagar, a proposal was made to the Civil Aviation authorities, who have agreed to start, from 1st April 2025, a regular daily air flight from Jammu to Srinagar at 10 am in the morning.”

Currently, the lack of an early flight from Jammu forces many travelers to either take late flights, affecting same-day return plans, or opt for alternative modes of transport such as road travel, which is unpredictable due to weather and security concerns.
