KTMF, PHDCCI grieved over losses in Hazratbal shopping complex blaze

Srinagar, April 17: Chairman PHDCCI Kashmir A P Vicky Shaw and Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) President Haji Muhammad Yaseen Khan have expressed sadness over the fire incident that razed down the popular Auqaf Market opposite to the Sir Syed Gate of Kashmir University.

Vicky Shaw whike commending the immediate response of the fire department to the incident, has urged the UT agencies responsible for fire management to strive towards higher levels of preparedness, mitigation efforts and strengthening their response mechanisms to deal with the increasing menace of market and other fire disasters in Kashmir.

In a statement to Ziraat Times, Mr Shaw  said: “I am deeply saddened by the news of the fire that razed down the Market. My prayers and thought are with the direct victims who lost their wares and bussiness investment to this rather unfortunate inferno that brought down the sprawling market that has been part of the social and economic fabric of Kashmir for decades.”

Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) also expressed its concern and sadness over the major incident of blaze that gutted three commercial complexes which houses dozens of shops and 6 residential houses damaged in the fire incident at Hazratbal near Kashmir University.

Expressing grief over the mishap, Haji Mohammad Yaseen Khan said the news of the tragic mishap has saddened him to core in this holy month of Ramadan. Sharing in the grief of those affected, he prayed for their speedy revival. “I am pained beyond words by the tragic fire incident at Hazratbal ahead of Eid festival.”

“My deepest sympathies are with the affected. Coping with such a disaster of this scope must be very hard for the affected. I hope the affected are able to cope up with the emotional distress. I express my unison with the affected,” Khan said.
