KCCI seeks LG’s intervention over permits issues of tourist vehicles

Srinagar, Feb 14: A spokesperson of the  Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) today  expressed concern over the problem faced by the  Kashmir’s tourism industry with regard to  issuance of  permits to commercial  vehicles for tourism  purpose.

In a statement to Ziraat Times, KCCI said, “It is a well known fact that our tourism industry over five years have  deteriorated to the worst level. To encourage Tourism Sector from J&K we need to support the upcoming Tourist  Season at all levels. The  State government and tourism players are putting their best efforts to attract tourists and limit the damages”.

“Tourist  operators  are  facing  many problems due to non –availability of  permit to the vehicles  which results in  cancelling  of  bookings. Tourism sector in general  and tour operators, in particular, are running in to the most difficult time due to business losses since August, 2019”, KCCI spokesperson further said.

“In view of the large number of people associated with the tourism  sector, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) urge the Lt. Governor Mr. Manoj Sinha to intervene so that the problem gets redressed as soon as possible”, the statement added.
