Srinagar, Feb 14: A spokesperson of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) today expressed concern over the problem faced by the Kashmir’s tourism industry with regard to issuance of permits to commercial vehicles for tourism purpose.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, KCCI said, “It is a well known fact that our tourism industry over five years have deteriorated to the worst level. To encourage Tourism Sector from J&K we need to support the upcoming Tourist Season at all levels. The State government and tourism players are putting their best efforts to attract tourists and limit the damages”.
“Tourist operators are facing many problems due to non –availability of permit to the vehicles which results in cancelling of bookings. Tourism sector in general and tour operators, in particular, are running in to the most difficult time due to business losses since August, 2019”, KCCI spokesperson further said.
“In view of the large number of people associated with the tourism sector, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) urge the Lt. Governor Mr. Manoj Sinha to intervene so that the problem gets redressed as soon as possible”, the statement added.
