Srinagar, Oct 9: A precipitation spell involving light to medium rains in the plains and snowfall in mountains is likely to start late Sunday to Monday in parts of Kashmir region.
According to Ziraat Times Weather Outlook, while most of the Kashmir Valley, mainly north Kashmir parts, is likely to experience rainfall from late Sunday to late Monday, mountains and several sub valleys are likely to experience light to medium snowfall.
According to the available data analysed by Ziraat Times, light to medium snowfall is likely across Gurez mountains, upper Kupwara and Bandipora mountains, Sonamarg, Zojila Pass areas, Upper Kargil, Upper Zanaskar valley, Sindh valley mountains of Ganderbal district and northern parts of upper Pirpanjal.
Snowfall on mountain passes connecting Kashmir Valley through Zojila Pass, Razdan Pass may result in disruption of vehicular traffic between Kashmir valley and Kargil, Ladakh and Gurez.
Farmers are advised to plan their agricultural activities factoring in rainfall in plain areas and also a major dip in temperatures.
