JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 11: The Jammu & Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority (JKRERA) has upgraded its official web portal with two new citizen-centric features aimed at enhancing transparency in the real estate sector and protecting homebuyers.
The new features include an interactive Geographic Information System (GIS) Project Tracker and an online facility to report unregistered real estate projects.
The digital interventions are intended to provide citizens with easy access to verified property information while helping curb unauthorised real estate developments across Jammu & Kashmir.
The GIS mapping tool enables users to visually locate real estate developments and check their status. The interactive map provides details of projects registered with JKRERA as well as those whose applications are currently under process.
Citizens can access the facility by visiting the JKRERA homepage and clicking on the “View on the Map” option.
The Authority has also introduced a “Report Unregistered Project” feature to enable citizens to lodge complaints against unregistered real estate projects or developments in their vicinity.
To report a project, users can visit the JKRERA homepage and click on the “Report Unregistered Project” option in the top menu bar. Complainants are required to provide details of the project and upload photographs of the site as supporting evidence to facilitate regulatory action.
JKRERA has urged citizens to make use of the digital tools to verify the credentials and registration status of real estate projects before investing their money.
The Authority has also called upon the public to report suspected violations through the portal to help promote a transparent and secure real estate sector in Jammu & Kashmir.
