JAMMU, September 18: The first edition of Jammu Expo 2026 – “A Celebration of Craft, Culture & Cuisine” began at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, on Thursday, bringing local entrepreneurs, artisans, MSMEs, women-led enterprises, startups and businesses together to showcase their products and connect with consumers and markets.
Organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) under the aegis of the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, the three-day exhibition will continue till September 20.
Held under the tagline “Discover Local, Experience Dogri Cuisine, Connect with Markets”, the expo aims to promote local products, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and Jammu’s cultural heritage while providing enterprises with opportunities for direct consumer engagement, networking and market exposure.
A key attraction is the dedicated “Taste of Jammu” food corner, featuring traditional and popular local cuisines, snacks, beverages and value-added food products. Cultural evenings featuring local performances have also been planned during the exhibition.
The expo includes dedicated spaces for One District One Product (ODOP) and other local products, along with participation from rural women’s Self-Help Groups, startups and emerging enterprises. Branded exhibition stalls are also providing participating businesses with opportunities to interact directly with consumers and explore new markets.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of JKTPO Managing Director Sudershan Kumar, Director Handicrafts and Handloom Jammu Mohammad Nazir Sheikh and Managing Director, J&K Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation, Pradeep Singh Manhas.
Sudershan Kumar said the Jammu Expo had been designed as a consumer-oriented and experience-driven platform combining enterprise promotion with Jammu’s cultural and culinary heritage.
He said JKTPO would continue organising such exhibitions across Jammu & Kashmir to strengthen market linkages, promote local brands and provide entrepreneurs, artisans and emerging enterprises greater opportunities to connect with consumers, buyers and markets.
The Jammu Expo follows the recently concluded Kashmir Expo 2026, organised by JKTPO at Zabarwan Park, Srinagar, from September 11 to 13. The two exhibitions are part of JKTPO’s efforts to create regular market-oriented platforms across Jammu & Kashmir for local enterprises.
The expo will remain open to the public from 11 am to 8 pm on all three days. JKTPO has invited residents and visitors to explore the exhibition, support local entrepreneurs and artisans, and experience Jammu’s products, cuisine and cultural heritage.
