GOA: Dr Imran Majid, Director of the Cutis Institute of Dermatology, Srinagar, has been conferred the prestigious Dr Mulekar Oration at the National Conference of the Association of Cutaneous Surgeons of India (ACSI), held in Goa on September 5.
The distinguished academic honour recognises Dr Majid’s longstanding contributions to vitiligo research and vitiligo surgery.
Dr Majid delivered the oration titled “My Journey in Vitiligo Research and Vitiligo Surgery”, sharing his several-decade journey in the field, including clinical research, innovations in vitiligo treatment, targeted phototherapy and surgical techniques for repigmentation.
Regarded as one of the prominent dermatologists in India working in the field of vitiligo, Dr Majid’s academic and clinical work has focused on improving treatment outcomes for patients with vitiligo. His work includes targeted phototherapy, medical therapies and surgical repigmentation procedures.
With more than 100 research publications and around 2,000 citations, Dr Majid has made significant contributions to academic dermatology, particularly in the areas of vitiligo and dermatosurgery.
The honour marks a significant milestone in his career and brings national recognition to the contributions of Jammu & Kashmir in the fields of dermatology, vitiligo research and patient care.
