Agriculture Dept to launch Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 18: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will launch Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to 31, 2026, focusing on institutionalising cleanliness, reducing pendency in government offices, improving public experience and ensuring systematic collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste.

The campaign will be implemented in accordance with guidelines issued by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) across the department’s headquarters, attached and subordinate offices and other organisations under its administrative control.

The department said the campaign would build on the outcomes of Special Campaign 5.0, during which cleanliness drives were conducted across offices and public places, alongside plantation activities and measures to improve grievance redressal.

A major focus of Special Campaign 6.0 will be reducing pending work and improving the delivery of government services to citizens, particularly farmers. The department has a grievance redressal mechanism through CPGRAMS as well as dedicated platforms for flagship schemes, including PM-KISAN and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

During Special Campaign 5.0, the Union Agriculture Minister reviewed the disposal of farmers’ grievances received through these portals, while the Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, guided officers in achieving campaign targets.

The department also organised a workshop on public grievances and Special Campaign 5.0 on October 9, 2025, with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The workshop was addressed by the Secretaries of the Agriculture and Administrative Reforms departments.

E-waste disposal emerged as one of the key focus areas during the previous campaign. Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institutes used e-waste materials to create models of agricultural equipment and machinery, including drones, tractors and cultivators.

The department showcased these models at an exhibition held during the workshop, with the initiative recognised as a best practice under the “Waste to Wealth” category.

The department said the Krishi Rakshak Portal also provides farmers with a one-stop platform for resolution of grievances related to PMFBY, supplementing the broader CPGRAMS mechanism.

Under Special Campaign 5.0, the department and its attached, subordinate and field offices also issued six PIB notes and more than 274 social media posts across platforms including X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

According to the department’s reported achievements, all 1,133 targeted cleanliness campaign sites were covered. Of the 32 pending references from Members of Parliament, 31 were disposed of.

The department reported disposal of all 177,336 pending public grievances listed as a campaign target. It also reviewed 31,722 physical files and weeded out 10,597 files.

The exercise resulted in 18,042 square feet of office space being freed and generated revenue of ₹40.38 lakh.

The department said the Special Campaign 6.0 will carry forward these efforts with an emphasis on cleanliness, disposal of pending matters, efficient record management, grievance redressal and responsible management of e-waste.
