Khyber Himalayan Resort partners with Go Green Gulmarg for environmental conservation

Gulmarg, Aug 25: The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa has partnered with Go Green Gulmarg – JKEW, under the aegis of Jammu & Kashmir Eco-Watch, to promote environmental conservation, ecological restoration and responsible tourism in Gulmarg.

The collaboration seeks to bring together responsible hospitality, environmental leadership and community participation to protect Gulmarg’s fragile Himalayan ecosystem and promote a greener and more sustainable tourism model.

According to the organisations, the partnership will focus on initiatives related to green tourism, biodiversity conservation and environmental awareness across Gulmarg.

Environmental lawyer and founder of the Gulmarg Eco-Restoration Project – JKEW, Nadeem Qadri, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to protecting and restoring the Himalayan environment while promoting responsible tourism.

The initiative emphasises that the future of tourism should involve not only experiencing natural landscapes but also protecting, restoring and respecting them.

The partners said they would work towards meaningful environmental initiatives aimed at creating a cleaner and greener Gulmarg while encouraging greater community participation in conservation efforts.

“Go Green Gulmarg — For Nature. For People. For the Himalayas,” the initiative said.
