Srinagar, August 29: The Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Kashmir, on Friday held a condolence meeting to mourn the demise of its former Director, Gazanfar Ali, who passed away on Thursday night in Srinagar.
Officers and officials of the Directorate expressed deep grief over his passing and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul. They also conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Recalling his tenure in the Handicrafts Department, the participants remembered Gazanfar Ali for his friendly and caring disposition, professional conduct and dedication to public service.
They also acknowledged his contribution towards strengthening the institutional framework of the handicrafts sector and promoting traditional crafts, describing his passing as a loss to his family, friends and colleagues in the department.
Speaking at the condolence meeting, the Director, Handicrafts & Handloom, Kashmir, expressed deep anguish over the demise, saying Gazanfar Ali would be remembered for his dedicated service, professional integrity and commitment to the department.
The Director said his contribution to public service and the promotion of traditional crafts would remain part of the department’s institutional memory. He also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength for them to bear the irreparable loss.
The Directorate expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and shared their grief during the difficult hour.
