Environmental organisations, scientists, journalists, students, religious leaders, business communities and ordinary citizens must build a cohesive, non-partisan movement that places ecology at the centre of public discourse. Development and environmental stewardship are not competing objectives. Lasting prosperity will only be possible if Kashmir’s fragile ecosystems are protected with the seriousness, urgency and collective resolve they demand.
