Ziraat Times Team Report

New Delhi, July 2: With Jammu & Kashmir among the participating States and Union Territories, the countdown has begun for Bharat Tex 2026, India’s largest global textiles exhibition, scheduled to be held from July 14 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The mega event is expected to bring together thousands of buyers, exhibitors, investors, policymakers and international delegates on a single platform to showcase the country’s textile ecosystem.

Organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation—a consortium of Textile Export Promotion Councils and industry bodies—with support from the Ministry of Textiles, Bharat Tex 2026 is themed “Weaving Indian Textiles Excellence into the Fabric of Global Growth.” The event is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F Vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign—and aims to strengthen India’s position as a global leader in textiles, fashion, sustainability, innovation and international trade.

According to the organisers, the third edition is expected to attract more than 7,000 buyers, around 1.3 lakh trade visitors, over 1,600 exhibitors and showcase 20,000-plus textile products across an exhibition area spanning 1.6 million square feet.

Jammu & Kashmir is among nine States and Union Territories participating as exhibitors, alongside Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Manipur, Rajasthan and West Bengal. These States will showcase their regional textile ecosystems, investment opportunities, manufacturing capabilities, industrial clusters and policy support for the sector. Eight other States—Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu—are participating as sponsor States.

The exhibition will cover the entire textile value chain, including fibre, yarn, fabric, apparel, fashion, home textiles, technical textiles and ancillary industries. It will also highlight India’s major textile clusters such as Tirupur, Ichalkaranji and Ahmedabad, while featuring international exhibitors from 14 countries.

The event will host more than 100 knowledge sessions, including panel discussions, roundtables, masterclasses and State sessions focusing on trade, investment, sustainability, technology, innovation, policy reforms and global sourcing trends. More than 350 speakers from over 20 countries are expected to participate, alongside representatives from international organisations including the United Nations and the European Union.

Organisers expect Bharat Tex 2026 to facilitate around 3,500 curated business-to-business (B2B) meetings, more than 100 business-to-government (B2G) meetings, and the signing of over 20 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) covering trade, investment, sustainability, technology and market access.

Ministerial delegations from countries including New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Cambodia and Brunei have expressed interest in attending the event. Business delegations from the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Bangladesh and several other countries are also expected to participate.

A series of dedicated State Investor Connect Sessions will provide a platform for States to showcase investment opportunities, industrial infrastructure, PM MITRA linkages and policy incentives aimed at attracting investments into India’s textile sector.

The event will also host the CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026, recognising excellence in resource efficiency, circular economy, sustainable materials, renewable energy, responsible business practices and industry collaboration.

To enhance visitor experience, organisers have launched the Bharat Tex 2026 mobile application, enabling digital registration, exhibitor discovery, AI-powered assistance, business matchmaking, meeting scheduling and real-time event navigation. A pre-fair directory has also been introduced to facilitate buyer-seller engagement ahead of the exhibition.

The organisers said Bharat Tex 2026 is expected to serve as a major platform for expanding global trade partnerships, attracting investments, promoting sustainable manufacturing, supporting MSMEs and reinforcing India’s position as a trusted global textile manufacturing hub.
