Jammu, July 16: Controller, Legal Metrology, Jammu & Kashmir, Shiv Kumar Gupta, on Wednesday held separate meetings with representatives of the Gangyal Industries Association and the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) to discuss industry concerns and gather feedback on measures aimed at improving ease of doing business.

The meetings, held at the Controller’s office in Transport Nagar, Narwal, Jammu, were part of the department’s ongoing outreach programme with industry and trade bodies.

A delegation of the Gangyal Industries Association, led by its president Virender Jain, submitted suggestions for improving stakeholder facilitation and streamlining online services. The association recommended making the Single Window Portal more user-friendly by providing applicants adequate time to correct inadvertent errors in applications.

The delegation also sought integration of online nomination provisions under Section 49 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 into the portal to simplify procedures for businesses.

Gupta assured the delegation that the suggestions would be examined and appropriate steps taken to further improve the department’s digital services and stakeholder interface.

The Controller also met a delegation of the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) led by its president Tarun Singla. The delegation discussed issues concerning the industrial sector and measures to strengthen service delivery by the department.
