Cabinet expansion, reshuffle to take place before or after Delhi protest: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, July 1: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that the much-anticipated expansion and reshuffle of the Jammu & Kashmir Council of Ministers will take place either before or after the proposed protest in New Delhi.

Speaking to reporters, Abdullah indicated that the timing of the cabinet exercise would be decided in view of the scheduled Delhi protest but did not specify an exact date.

His remarks come amid growing political speculation over the induction of new ministers and a possible reshuffle of portfolios within the existing cabinet.

The Chief Minister, however, refrained from disclosing details regarding the likely composition of the expanded ministry or the names of prospective inductees.

The proposed cabinet expansion has been the subject of considerable political discussion in recent weeks, with expectations that the exercise could strengthen governance and address administrative priorities.

Further details are awaited.
