CCIK president Tariq Ghani receives Award from Union Minister Ramdas Athawale

Srinagar, July 20: President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashmir (CCIK), Tariq Ghani, was honoured with the Award of Excellence by Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale in recognition of his contribution to promoting entrepreneurship, supporting startups, strengthening trade and industry, and addressing issues concerning the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

The honour was conferred during a meeting between a CCIK delegation led by Ghani and the Union Minister, where a range of issues related to trade, commerce, industry and the business community in Jammu & Kashmir were discussed.

During the interaction, Athawale appreciated CCIK’s efforts to encourage young entrepreneurs to join the mainstream by actively involving them in the Chamber’s activities. He stressed the need for focused handholding and institutional support for aspiring entrepreneurs and startup founders in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Minister commended the Chamber’s role in promoting entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for the region’s youth. He also invited the CCIK delegation to New Delhi for further discussions on matters concerning the development of trade and industry in Jammu & Kashmir.

Athawale assured the delegation of the Government of India’s support in extending various schemes and initiatives aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and strengthening the startup ecosystem in the Union Territory.

On the occasion, the Minister presented the Award of Excellence to Ghani, acknowledging his efforts in advancing entrepreneurship, startups, trade, commerce and public welfare across Jammu & Kashmir.

Speaking after receiving the award, Ghani thanked the Minister for giving a patient hearing to the issues raised by the delegation and for appreciating the work undertaken by CCIK. He reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to working closely with the Government of India to improve the business environment and create greater opportunities for the youth and entrepreneurial community of Jammu & Kashmir.
