Srinagar, June 8: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has initiated the process for filling posts of Civil Judges (Senior Division) through promotion from among Civil Judges (Junior Division) on an ad hoc basis.
According to an order issued by the Registrar General on June 6, 2026, the Acting Chief Justice has constituted a two-member committee to conduct interviews of eligible officers falling within the consideration zone for promotion. The committee comprises Justice Sanjay Parihar and Justice Shahzad Azeem.
The order states that the interviews will be conducted in terms of Rule 7(c) of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Judicial Service Rules, 2025. The officers shortlisted for consideration have been listed in Annexure-A appended to the order.
A total of 37 judicial officers from various districts of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have been included in the consideration zone for promotion to the post of Civil Judge (Senior Division).
