Entrepreneur Shares Business Insights With Young Gymnasts at Nun Chai Talks

Bandipora, June 19: Entrepreneur and business leader Firdous Indiana on Thursday interacted with young gymnasts and sportspersons in Bandipora, sharing insights on entrepreneurship, skill development and career opportunities during an episode of the District Administration’s Nun Chai Talks programme at the Waqar Knowledge Centre.

The session featured Syed Firdous Hussain, popularly known as Firdous Indiana, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Indiana Floors & More. He spoke about his journey from Bandipora to establishing a successful business in Bengaluru, highlighting the challenges and milestones that shaped his entrepreneurial career.

Addressing the participants, Firdous urged youth to cultivate discipline, dedication and a strong work ethic, saying these qualities are essential for success in sports, academics and business. He also emphasized the importance of positive thinking, focused effort and continuous skill upgradation in an evolving employment landscape.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, highlighted emerging business opportunities and stressed the importance of skill development in enhancing employability and entrepreneurship. She encouraged young people to identify their strengths and make effective use of government initiatives aimed at youth empowerment.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Zaffar Husson Shawl spoke about unconventional career paths, trending business opportunities and government schemes supporting entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. Block Development Officer Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Hadi, also encouraged participants to explore self-employment and innovation-driven careers.

An interactive question-and-answer session was held during the programme, with participants seeking guidance on entrepreneurship, career planning, business management and skill acquisition. Firdous responded by sharing practical advice drawn from his professional experience.

Speaking at the conclusion of the event, BDO Aloosa and Nodal Officer for Waqar Knowledge Centre, Ulfat Ali, thanked the guest speaker for engaging with the youth and reaffirmed the District Administration’s commitment to continuing such interactions through the Nun Chai Talks platform.

The programme was attended primarily by members of the local fitness community, gym enthusiasts and young sportspersons, who described the session as informative and motivating. Officials said Nun Chai Talks would continue to provide a platform for accomplished personalities from diverse fields to inspire and mentor young people in the district.
