DC Budgam Athar Aamir Khan directs timely disposal of revenue grievances across Budgam

Budgam, June 2: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, on Monday chaired a meeting of revenue officers to review progress on digitisation of land records, implementation of the PM SVAMITVA scheme, grievance redressal mechanisms and public service delivery across the district.

The meeting, held at the DC Office Complex in Budgam, was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Collector Land Acquisition, Tehsildars and other concerned officers.

Reviewing key revenue initiatives, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to maintain momentum and ensure timely completion of pending tasks and reforms.

Officials informed the meeting that Budgam district has 503 revenue villages, each with its own Jamabandi record. These records are currently being uploaded on the designated portal as part of an ongoing digitisation drive aimed at improving transparency, accessibility and efficiency in revenue administration.

To strengthen public participation in the process, Khan directed officials to maintain registers in every village for recording grievances and objections related to revenue records.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the functioning of the online revenue grievance portal, JK Zameen Sudhar, and directed officers to ensure prompt disposal of complaints and clear all pending cases at the earliest.

Progress under the PM SVAMITVA Scheme and the ongoing sub-parcelisation of mother maps was also reviewed during the meeting. Khan instructed concerned officers to complete targets in a time-bound manner and ensure effective coordination for successful implementation of these initiatives.

He further reviewed complaints received through JK Samadhan as well as offline and online grievances related to revenue matters. Stressing the importance of transparent and citizen-friendly governance, the Deputy Commissioner directed that all revenue services be delivered efficiently within the timelines prescribed under the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA).

Khan urged revenue officers to work with dedication, professionalism and accountability to strengthen public confidence in the Revenue Department and improve service delivery across Budgam district.
