UPSC Declares Indian Forest Service Exam 2025 Results, 148 Candidates Selected

New Delhi, May 8: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday declared the final results of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2025, recommending 148 candidates for appointment to the prestigious service.

According to the commission, the results were based on the written examination conducted from November 16 to 23, 2025, followed by personality tests held between April 6 and April 15, 2026.

UPSC said the selected candidates have been recommended in order of merit for appointment to the Indian Forest Service under various categories.

Of the 148 recommended candidates, 42 belong to the General category, 21 to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 52 to Other Backward Classes (OBC), 22 to Scheduled Castes (SC) and 11 to Scheduled Tribes (ST).

The list also includes candidates under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category, including one PwBD-1 candidate, three PwBD-2 candidates and three PwBD-3 candidates.

The commission stated that two vacancies reserved for PwBD-1 candidates had been carried forward to the next recruitment cycle due to non-availability of suitable candidates.

UPSC further said the result of one candidate has been withheld.

The government had reported a total of 150 vacancies for the Indian Forest Service Examination 2025, including 61 for the General category, 15 for EWS, 41 for OBC, 22 for SC and 11 for ST candidates. The vacancies also included nine posts reserved for PwBD candidates.

The commission clarified that appointments would be made by the government based on the available vacancies and subject to candidates fulfilling all eligibility conditions and verification requirements.

UPSC said the reservation claims of candidates under EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwBD categories would be verified by the competent authorities.

It also noted that the candidature of 71 recommended candidates has been kept provisional pending further verification.

Candidates seeking clarification regarding the examination or recruitment process can contact the Facilitation Counter at the UPSC campus in New Delhi on working days between 10 am and 5 pm. The results are also available on the official UPSC website. Marks obtained by candidates will be uploaded within 15 days of the declaration of the result.
