PGRP Conclave-2026 inaugurated at GDC Srinagar

Srinagar, May 21: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education Sakeena Itoo on Wednesday inaugurated the Post Graduate Research Programme (PGRP) Conclave-2026 at Government Dental College Srinagar and emphasized the importance of research-based learning in addressing emerging healthcare challenges.

Addressing doctors, academicians, researchers and students during the conclave, the minister highlighted the role of research and innovation in strengthening healthcare systems and improving patient care.

She said that academic platforms such as the PGRP conclave provide opportunities for young medical professionals and researchers to present their work, exchange ideas and contribute to advancements in medical science.

Sakeena Itoo appreciated the efforts of the faculty, students and organisers for promoting scientific inquiry and academic excellence through the event.

“Research-based learning is essential for addressing emerging health challenges and ensuring quality healthcare services for the people,” she said.

The minister described the medical profession as one of the noblest professions dedicated to serving humanity with compassion, commitment and integrity. She urged young doctors and researchers to uphold ethical medical practices and continue striving for excellence in patient care and scientific research.

She also reiterated the government’s commitment towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure, promoting medical education and encouraging research activities across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of Government Dental College Srinagar presented an overview of the objectives and significance of the conclave.

During the programme, the minister interacted with students and faculty members and appreciated their contribution towards academic and healthcare excellence. She also released the newsletter of the Research Conclave-2026 during the event.
