CM Omar Reviews Budget Implementation in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 5: Omar Abdullah on Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Civil Secretariat to fast-track the implementation of key announcements made in the Budget 2026–27.

The meeting focused on ensuring timely execution of welfare schemes and development initiatives aimed at benefiting the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior members of the government, including the Deputy Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, advisor to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and administrative secretaries, were present at the meeting.

Officials said the Chief Minister reviewed progress on various budget commitments and emphasised the need for efficient coordination among departments to ensure that schemes are implemented without delay.

He stressed that the government’s priority is to translate budgetary announcements into tangible outcomes on the ground, particularly in sectors impacting public welfare.

The review meeting is part of the government’s broader effort to monitor implementation and accelerate delivery of key initiatives outlined in the Budget for the current financial year.
