TAFI confers Faiz Bakhshi ‘Green Ambassador of Kashmir Award’

Srinagar, April 17: Environmental activist Faiz Bakhshi has been conferred the “Green Ambassador of Kashmir Award” by the Travel Agents Federation of India, J&K Chapter, in recognition of his sustained efforts toward environmental conservation and awareness in the region.

Bakhshi, who serves as Convenor of the Environmental Policy Group in Kashmir, has been acknowledged for his contribution to enhancing green cover through large-scale tree plantation drives and community-based environmental awareness initiatives.

The award highlights his role in mobilising public participation around sustainability and promoting ecological responsibility at the grassroots level. His work has focused on sensitising communities to environmental challenges while encouraging practical action through plantation campaigns and outreach programmes.

Members of the environmental community extended their congratulations, describing his efforts as a source of inspiration and noting that his initiatives have made a tangible impact in promoting environmental preservation in Kashmir.

The recognition by TAFI’s J&K Chapter is seen as an acknowledgment of the growing importance of local leadership in addressing environmental concerns and advancing sustainability efforts across the region.
