Ziraat Times News Desk

Srinagar, April 8: The vital Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been blocked following a heavy landslide at Shalgarhi in the Banihal area, disrupting traffic movement along the strategic route.

According to traffic authorities, the landslide has completely obstructed the highway, halting vehicular movement in both directions. Officials have advised commuters to avoid travel on NH-44 until the road is cleared and traffic is restored.

The highway serves as a crucial lifeline connecting Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of the country, and any disruption often leads to significant inconvenience for passengers and transporters.

Authorities have urged the public not to rely on unverified information and instead follow official updates issued by the Traffic Police regarding road status and restoration efforts.

Efforts are expected to be underway to clear the debris and restore connectivity at the earliest.
