Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the reopening of several tourist destinations across the Union Territory, officials said.
The sites cleared for reopening include Yousmarg and Doodhpathri in Budgam district; Dandipora Park in Kokernag; Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan and Padpawan in Shopian; Astanpora and the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar; Thajwas Glacier and Hung Park in Ganderbal; and the Wular Lake/Watlab area in Baramulla district.
Officials said the decision is aimed at boosting tourism and restoring public access to popular leisure and eco-tourism spots across Kashmir Valley.
The reopening is expected to provide relief to local businesses, including hoteliers, transport operators, pony handlers and other stakeholders dependent on tourism-related activities.
Further details regarding operational guidelines and security arrangements are likely to be issued by the district administrations concerned.
