Srinagar, Jan 11: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday held an interaction with students participating in The India Trek 2026 in Srinagar.
The India Trek is a student-led international journey that brings together participants from Harvard, MIT and other leading global universities. The initiative is designed to help students explore India’s social, cultural and political diversity while encouraging dialogue and deeper engagement with the country’s ideas and institutions.
During the interaction, Omar Abdullah exchanged views with the students on a range of issues, highlighting Kashmir’s history, pluralistic ethos and contemporary challenges. The visiting students shared their perspectives and experiences from the trek, which aims to provide firsthand exposure to different regions of India.
The interaction formed part of the students’ Srinagar visit under The India Trek 2026 programme, which seeks to build cross-cultural understanding and academic exchange through direct engagement with public leaders and local communities.
