Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir Government has ordered the placement of 21 In-Charge Assistant Executive Engineers (Electrical), including degree and diploma holders, as In-Charge Executive Engineers (Electrical) on an officiating basis, according to an order issued by the Power Development Department.
The order, issued vide Government Order No. 26-JK(PDD) of 2026, authorises the placements in the officers’ existing pay and grade along with admissible charge allowance, with immediate effect.
Among the degree-holder engineers placed as In-Charge Executive Engineers are Sunil Sharma, Rakesh Warikoo, Ajaz Rashid, Aman Bharti, Farooq Ahmad Ganai, Suhail Nazir, Syed Abrar Hussain, Sanjeev Singh Pathania, Iffat Rashid, Nissar Ahmad Wani, Musroor Hussain, and Suhail Murtaza.
The diploma-holder engineers promoted under the order include Arun Baloria, Tassadug Nabi Chowdhary, Abdul Hamid Dar (RBA), Fiaz Ahmad Faiz (OBC), Mohd Ashraf Lone (RBA), Mohd Asif Khan (RBA), Basheer Ahmad Kotay (RBA), Rafiq Ahmad (RBA), and Hakeem Ghulam Jeelani (RBA).
Consequent upon the placements, the government has also ordered transfers and postings of the officers to various Power Development Corporation units across Jammu and Kashmir, including JPDCL, KPDCL, JKPTCL and JKPDC. Several officers have been assigned additional charges or placed at the disposal of Managing Directors of concerned corporations.
The government clarified that the placements are purely temporary and on a stop-gap basis, and will not confer any right, interest, or equity for regular promotion. The arrangements will remain subject to the outcome of any pending writ petitions before competent courts.
It has also been stated that in case of receipt of any adverse report against any officer, the placement shall be withdrawn ab initio without prior notice.
