Jammu, January 3: The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has constituted a committee to conduct a joint inspection of the bypassed stretches of the old National Highway-44 between Udhampur and Ramban, ahead of their formal takeover by the Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department.
According to officials, the inspection will assess the condition of the bypassed road stretches and related infrastructure to ensure they meet the required standards before being transferred to the R&B Department for maintenance and management. The exercise is aimed at facilitating a smooth and coordinated handover of the road assets.
The committee will carry out a detailed on-ground assessment and submit its report to the competent authority, highlighting any issues that need rectification prior to the takeover.
