Govt Extends Deadline for Haj 2026 Booking Formalities

Ziraat Times News Desk

New Delhi: The Ministry of Minority Affairs has granted a final extension to provisionally selected pilgrims for completing booking-related formalities for Haj 2026, extending the deadline from January 15 to January 25, 2026.

According to an official advisory, the decision follows representations received from pilgrims and other stakeholders seeking additional time to complete the prescribed codal formalities. The matter was examined by the competent authority, which approved the extension in the larger interest of pilgrims.

Earlier, through a notice dated December 4, 2025, the Ministry had advised all provisionally selected pilgrims booking through Haj Group Organisers (HGOs) or Private Tour Operators (PTOs) to complete all formalities, including booking requirements, by January 15, 2026, in line with timelines prescribed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to avoid last-minute inconveniences.

Under the extended timeline, pilgrims are required to complete the booking process, submit their valid passports to the Haj Committee of India or the concerned HGOs, and ensure successful onboarding on the Nusuk Portal within the stipulated period.

The Ministry has also advised pilgrims to verify the registration status, quota, and approval of the concerned HGO or PTO before making any bookings and to ensure that bookings are made only through authorised operators.

Reiterating the importance of adhering to the revised schedule, the Ministry clarified that no further extension beyond January 25, 2026, will be granted under any circumstances. The advisory has been issued with the approval of the competent authority.
