Mumbai: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accompanied by Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami), along with MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq and MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah, engaged with the travel fraternity of the two states during the Maharashtra & Gujarat Travel Fraternity Outreach Programme held in Mumbai
Participants of the program told Ziraat Times that the outreach programme brought together representatives from the travel media and tourism industry, providing a platform for meaningful interaction aimed at reviving and strengthening tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. The leadership highlighted the sector’s critical role as a lifeline for thousands of families across the Union Territory.
Speaking on the occasion, Omar Abdullah said that despite recent challenges, concerted and focused efforts are underway to restore confidence among tourists and stakeholders. He added that destinations such as Gulmarg and other major tourism hubs in Kashmir are fully prepared to welcome visitors with their natural beauty, warm hospitality, and world-class facilities.
The delegation expressed the government’s commitment to promoting diverse tourism avenues and positioning Jammu and Kashmir firmly back on the national and global tourism map. The presence of senior leaders at the outreach programme was seen as a strong signal of the administration’s resolve to engage with industry stakeholders and rebuild momentum in the tourism sector.
